Lawson thinks it's funny to hide. He thinks it's funny for us to hide. The problem is that I'm not entirely sure he actually knows what hide really means. For a month or so he's been asking us to hide in the house. You know, around the corner, in the closet, on the other side of the bed in our room, under a blanket, etc. He thinks it's funny to "find" us even when he told us where to hide in the first place.
Hiding outside is a favorite activity of his too. Pretty much every evening we play outside in the yard, and pretty much every evening he wants to ride the mower. So, we take him for a ride. I drive him around the yard in circles, and at some point, Jason will hide around the corner of the shed or behind a tree or something. As we drive by whatever he's hiding behind, he jumps out and Lawson squeals with delight. Sometimes Lawson says, "Daddy hide." Then pushes Jason to the hiding spot and then proceeds to "hide" right beside him. Also, a few weeks ago, Carla's kiddos were playing chase in the back yard (or maybe it was tag), anyway, Cassie hid behind the shop. Basically she backed up against the shop wall and got as flat against it as possible. Lawson loves Cassie, so he ran to get beside her and did the same thing. Since then he will back up in the same place and say, "I hide." "Cassie hide." Basically, the kid loves to hide.
So, last week I got the above picture from Jason with the caption, "Hiding."
Did I mention that I don't think he's clear on the actual meaning of the word hide.
I love this kid! He makes my day!
