Pumpkin Patch 2013

Last weekend we took Lawson to the Pumpkin Patch at the United Methodist Church in Greenwood. This is the one we went to last year too, and it happens to be located at the Harper House (owned by the church), which is where one of my baby showers was held. I love it there! Obviously Lawson was able to enjoy the Pumpkin Patch in a whole different way this year than last. Last year he was 10 months old and not walking. This year was a whole different story. He loved checking out all the pumpkins. Jason told him before we left the house that we were going to see a whole bunch of pumpkins, but Lawson obviously didn't fully understand what that meant because as soon as we pulled up the kid exploded with excitement!! I thought he was going to burst out of this car seat.

The little pumpkin in his right hand came home with us. It was like the second one he picked up and he kept it near by the rest of the time.

He was so excited!!

He said, "I sit on that punkin'" (still holding the little one).

If there are steps, Lawson wants to walk up and down them. All steps (or curbs) are "big steps". He will say, "I do it big steps. Hold haaaand!"

And, this is this year. Again with the silly face. His Daddy told him to stick his tongue out at me, so, he did.

Greenwood has big American Flags hanging all down Main Street and around the square, and Lawson was amazed by seeing all of them blowing in the wind. If only we all got so excited every time we see an American Flag. I love the perspective of a child...

In case you're wondering, yes, he puts his own hat on. He likes it pulled down like that.

 

Once we got home and started to carve the pumpkin, Lawson wanted very little to do with it. The first time he looked inside, he said, "Eeeewwww! That's yucky! I no like it." But, eventually I got him to dig a little of the guts out with a spoon. He's a mess.

Does it get cuter than this?!?!? Look how happy he is! I just love this sweet face.

And, these two boys melt my heart. I could not love them more. They are best buddies. Someone actually commented that they see me in Lawson in this picture. I think I do too a little. :-)

Jason and I both love this time of year! It's my favorite, and so far it looks like Lawson loves it too.

I Eatin'

For some reason I seem to take a lot of pics of Lawson eating.Something about it is just so stinking cute to me. Sometimes he just looks like such a big boy sitting there eating with a spoon or fork, chewing his food with his tiny little teeth. It's just one of the many things that is a daily reminder of just how fast he is growing. He is now 21 months old. He does a great job eating with a fork and spoon for the most part unless he's trying to eat peas with a fork, which is tedious and time consuming...but still funny. He still makes a pretty big mess, but we are doing better. And, about 9/10 meals are eaten from a plate or bowl instead of just being put on his tray. And, most of the time, the he doesn't even dump the food out of the bowl or plate. Haha. I know these pictures are random, but I feel like they are priceless. 

"Lawson have it one Daddy's donuts...pleeeeeeeease?" Why yes, sweet boy, you may have a donut. 

"Skettio's...." Yes, we always eat spaghettio's with our shirt off. Don't you?

No idea what he's eating here, but look at those sweet eyes. 

Yes, he does actually like peas. Loves them in fact. You know you're jealous. 

I feel like he looks sweet and a little ornery too here. If I remember correctly, after he drank some of this smoothie, he poured some out on his tray and dipped his animal crackers in it.Silly boy.

Weekend Fun

I love my weekends with my boys! Sometimes it's just spending time around the house and sometimes we do something a little different, but either way I love it! A couple of weekends ago the weather cooled off a bit and it was the first day of fall on Sunday, so we had a lot of fun outside.

On Saturday, we took Lawson and Addison to Deer Acres Zoo in Hackett. I'm from Hackett but had somehow never been there. We had a good time minus the time we spent trying to chase the geese away so Lawson would stop screaming. He HATED the geese. The geese just wanted the food we had, so any time they would get too close, Jason would throw a bunch of it away from us so they would go eat and leave us alone. Let's face it people. Geese are scary with their long necks and their loud honking as they run at you with their mouths open. There's also a chance I was chased by a goose when I was little, so I might be a little sympathetic to Lawson's terror at the sight/sound of geese. :-)

Addison fed the donkeys, and can I just say few things are cuter than a baby donkey. I'm not sure why, but man they are cute!

How cute are these two holding hands? Lawson would go anywhere Addison wanted. And, she's pretty crazy about him too.

He would even feed the big goats. Every time they would take food from his hand he would smack his lips like he was taking a bit too.

And they had some playground equipment too, so we took advantage of the nice weather and played some.

Later that evening we had our first bonfire of the season. We love a good bonfire, and since we can do it right in our own backyard, it's even better. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Lawson loved it, and he was actually a very good boy around the fire. He kept pointing at it saying, "hot fire, no-no."

My favorite boys in my favorite time of year doing one of my favorite things. I am one happy Momma.

What a fun day we had! I LOVE fall, so I'm looking forward to more and more of this in the next few months. 

Daddy's Boy

Lawson LOVES his Daddy, and his Daddy loves him! They are the best of buddies. As Lawson gets older day-by-day, I see him becoming more and more of a Daddy's boy. Don't get me wrong. He loves his Momma, but he tells me all the time, "I Daddy buddy." and "I Daddy big guy." On the one hand I might be a little jealous, but mostly I'm just grateful that Jason is such a great Dad and that he loves spending time with his boy.

A few month ago Jason was sick. Since he was running fever I did my best to keep Lawson out of his face but telling him Daddy was sick and needed to rest. A few days in Jason's fever broke and he laid in the floor to play with Lawson at which point Lawson went and got a few of his tools and said, "I fix it Daddy."
